Stefano Giovannoni has always been an interpreter of his time, someone who ponders on the design of technological tools that have been invented to make it easier for the general public to access high technology: this is the case of his Google TV Smartbox, a recently designed item presented in February 2011 at CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas. The smartbox makes it possible to equip any TV with Internet access. It is characterized by a dynamic and aggressive appeal that differentiates it from the usual electronic systems of this kind, also thanks to the use of semitransparent and high-gloss plastic which allows for back-lighting of the logo by way of a halo produced by an LED strip. It's made up of two symmetrical parts joined on the diagonal of the side, and fitted with a USB outlet and an SD Card input, so that photos and videos can be visualized directly on the TV screen. The slanted row of slits in the side resembles the gills of a shark or a stingray.
