Maletti, in collaboration with L'Oreal Produits Professionnels, has developed the first line of furniture for hairdressing salons with a low-environmental impact. Maletti, an historical Italian manufacturer founded in 1936, is a world leader in salon furniture.

After its important collaboration with Philippe Starck in 1989, Maletti and L'Oreal set out to find another internationally acclaimed designer, and their choice fell upon Stefano Giovannoni. In contrast with the usual image of the salon, which is often linked to professional and technological tools, the design research put forward by Studio Giovannoni alludes to a more "domestic" and reassuring atmosphere, characterized by the warmth of the bent wood and the hugely comfortable chairs.

Developed using eco-compatible materials, the Green First collection was unveiled in the spring of 2011. The chair used for washing hair is a completely new conception, made from wood and equipped with numerous accessories reminiscent of an airplane cabin; moreover, it was made so that it could be placed anywhere in the environment, much like a piece of furniture for the home, thus turning it into a sort of island where the customer can relax. The structures for the two work armchairs are made of wood bent three-dimensionally to contain the padding. The mirror is large with a wooden frame, and its elegant design is reminiscent of the kind you'd see in a tailor's workshop.
